I am getting this error after a factory reset of my pfSense box. I have internet connectivity and can ping all the pfSense domains. The strange thing is that when I rebooted my pfSense machine it showed a log of packages I had installed before the factory reset. This makes me think that perhaps snort is blocking the connection to the package repository?

Any ideas would be great…thanks in advance.

This thread - http://forum.pfsense.org/index.php/topic,66357.0.html - has some advice about how to cleanup package binaries and their startup scripts after doing a factory reset of the config.

As the Greek philosopher Isosceles used to say, "There are 3 sides to every triangle."
