Traffic shaper in a network with squid.
-
Hi.
I have a network with squid, not transparent, I force my users to access port 80/443 only from squid+squidguard.
Example:
1; They can only query my internal dns.
2; They only surf if they use squid.With this settings, can I use Traffic Shaper?
Or is better to use squid shaper?
pf 2.0.3., thanks.

Most definitely! I am using both and it is working great. No special/unusual configuration needed (in some cases)
Here's a sticky post that may help:

Do you know if that sticky is still relevant with pfSense 2.1 ?

The easy way Traffic Shaping with Squid Transparent Proxy
Add under Firewall RulesAction = Pass
Interface= LAN
Source= LAN subnet
Protocol = TCP
Source = LAN
Destination = any
Destination port range = (Squid Proxy port) eg. 3128
