We have three locations connected over OpenVPN tunnels to pfSense units. Two are Comcast residential Cable and one is Comcast at a colo with a 10Mbps/10Mbps connection. This connection is hosting an Asterisk server. Since upgrading from 2.0.3 to 2.1 on all routers the call quality at the remote locations in both directions has been terrible. Tried redoing traffic shaping with no luck.

Found the solution. Seems like for many of the upgrades to pfSense Netgate units I have done, you need to do a second reboot. You can tell this if you look at the box and see the lights flashing still. If it happens on another unit I will check resource usage. Rebooting the pfSense unit at our color hosting the PBX cleared the problem up.

See - Its good to be intellectually limited like me.  I know exactly 2 tricks that usually works.

          1.  Reinstall and reboot several times

          2.  Reboot some more.
