My LDAP/AD server is accessible via an IPSec tunnel. When the tunnel fails, I do correctly authenticate against the local database. It takes 60 to 120 seconds or sometimes more before I successfully authenticate using a username/password in the local database. Are there any setting I can adjust to lessen the time of login? This is extremley frustrating and a show stopper to rolling LDAP/AD authenticaiton out in our production environment.

I reported the same thing a while back. Not sure what the fix is. I have found openVPN to be a lot more stable than IPSec.
