IPTV using VLAN not working!
-
I downloaded pfSense the other day when I got Bell Fibre (Canadian) internet. I was using IP cop before this.
I needed support for VLAN since Bell uses VLAN 35 for internet and VLAN 34 for IPTV and I did not want to use the router/modem they provided me with.
I have setup the internet without any problems. I plugged the ONT directly into my WAN port and it worked on my LAN connection great.
The problem I am having now is that the router/modem that bell provided me with handles the IPTV connection as well. I am having huge problems trying to get the IPTV working.
There are a few people on these forums who have seemingly had the same problems with IPTV and I am wondering if anyone has had any luck setting this up. :-\
I am running 2.0-RELEASE (i386) with 2GB of ram and a Pentium 4.
The setup I have currently has 4 gigabit network cards all that support VLAN and 802.11Q .

really…no one???

Perhaps you can make a drawing of your current network topology to avoid any confusion? Gliffy.com is great for these kind of things.

Were you able to get this working?
I'm using pfSense on a 175/175 Bell Fibe connection as well and I am able to get internet passed through while bypassing the Home Hub 2000 entirely, but I'm not sure how to configure the TV.
If you've figured it out, please share how you managed to do it.
Thanks!
