I'm trying to setup a Pantech UML290 from Verizon as a fallback device.

I followed all the instructions and have gotten to the point of enabling the interace; however, when I do it doesn't seem to work. Looking into the System logs under PPP I see the following:

Nov 8 21:08:19	ppp: [opt1_link0] CHAT: The modem responded with "ERROR" to the command "AT+CGDCONT=1,"IP","vzwinternet"" at ModemCmd: label.

      Runing 2.1-RELEASE on amd64.

I've searched the forums for references to this issue and the uml290 and can't find anything.

      Any ideas?

        I figured out the issue.

I had an APN set and was following http://forum.pfsense.org/index.php/topic,56696.0.html

If you follow the basic intrusions of that user and use the phone number "99**3#" you do not set an APN inside ppp.
