      Hi all,

New to the forums. Seems that this is one of those forums that the mods lock down threads all the time… So frustrating!

Just been reading this topic: http://forum.pfsense.org/index.php/topic,58882.0.html

Does anyone know the latest model of the Vigor120?

Also has anyone else had any issues with them? About to buy one.

      Thanks!

There are only two versions of the Draytek Vigor 120 modem, a v1 and a v2.

Don't get the UK and the US mixed up, the firmware may look similar, but there are subtle differences!

The latest firmwware can be found here:

        UK Link
        v1 - F/W 3.2.4.4
        v2 - F/W 3.2.6

        US Link
        Vigor120 series - 3.2.4.4 - 2010/09/13
        Vigor120 V2 series - 3.2.6 - 2011/05/24

NOTE: to download from the US Link, you first need to register.

I have the uk v2, I stopped using it as it just seemed intermittently sluggish and now use an old speedtouch in pptp pass through mode which I find is better on my noisy line.

ADSL 2+ up to 16Mbps vigor syncs between 12 - 13 , but as I said internet seems sluggish and hangs on occasion , I have not tried it on pfsense, The speedtouch syncs marginally higher and things just seem smoother - I get more consistent speedtest results. Speedtest on the vigor is all over the place.

Threads are autolocked after enough time has passed without anyone posting to it.

Eeek! First negative that I've heard about these. Do you have the 500mA power supply or the 1A? Thanks!

A customer have a 120 plugged into bigger draytek router which auto load balanced two adsl lines but found it sluggish as well.

I suspect one of the reasons why the 120 is sluggish is the MTU is not 1500 but just under I think 1496 from memory (its back in Jan I last worked on that system) and the UK (BT) adsl uses the full MTU of 1500 unlike elsewhere like the US which uses just under.

                  FWIW.
