      Will pfsense work with realtek lan cards I read somewhere there not the best ones to use.

        Some of them, yes.  The Gig-E ports are much higher quality than the older 10/100, but still fall short of Intel's NICs.

        I can break anything.

          I always vote for the Intel NICs.  Rock solid drivers and performance.
