      Hi All

I'm not a network guru, I only know the basics.
I've been trying to get vlans working for several days to no avail and can't find the problem.
I have a 2.1 pfense router with 3 interfaces. WAN, LAN and OPT.
I have a linux server plugged directly into OPT.
I have managed to set up two vlans on the server; ids 2 and 1001.
I have plugged a laptop into the back of the server instead of the router and the vlans seem to be working fine.
When I plug the server back into the router I can't ping any of the vlan end points on pfsense. Nor can I reach the outside world.  :'(

I have the book and have followed the instructions. I've created an 'allow all' rule on both the vlans and the parent interface. Hence I'm now stuck.

I'm using the gui as I'm not familiar with the bsd command line or vlans. I'm generally happy with unix so can follow any instructions.

      Any advice greatly appreciated.

      Charlie101.

Can you post screenshots of Interfaces->(assign)  Interfaces-(assign)->VLANs and the WAN, LAN, and OPT interface configs?
