Is DNS what I really need?

Hi there,

Pardon me for asking this but I really need to have a name for my local web server for my intranet like having to access the web based helpdesk system from the browser with this address helpdesk.corp.com and not the local or private IP address. Kindly provide how to do this…  ???

you can add the hostname.domain in the dns forwarder and this will do what you require. this only works if your PCs are using the pfsense as their DNS server.
