      HI,

I am currently using 2.1 release version of pfsense and getting reports that our customers are getting very slow download speeds from our website.  For example a test windows box over a 2Mbps connection is reporting 4 hours for a 500mb file.  we run on a 100M leased line so I don't think it's a bandwidth issue.  Running a packet trace I can see multiple entries as below:

      SRC IP DEST ip TCP 66 [TCP Dup ACK 79#1] 47170 > http [ACK] Seq=1 Ack=40657 Win=65340 Len=0 SLE=42109 SRE=43561
      SRC IP DEST ip TCP 66 [TCP Dup ACK 79#2] 47170 > http [ACK] Seq=1 Ack=40657 Win=65340 Len=0 SLE=42109 SRE=43561
      SRC IP DEST ip TCP 66 [TCP Dup ACK 79#3] 47170 > http [ACK] Seq=1 Ack=40657 Win=65340 Len=0 SLE=42109 SRE=43561
      then:
SRC IP DEST ip HTTP 1506 [TCP Fast Retransmission] Continuation or non-HTTP traffic

So it looks like the connection is either dropping temporarily or being blocked causing the slow download.  I am just not 100%sure whether it's the pfSense firewall causing this or some other cause.

The web server being access for the download is on a Ubuntu 12.04 LTS VM and not in any way overworked according to the VMware stats and the issue started after replacing our existing firewall with pfsense.

Any ideas where to look next?

      Drac
