Pfsense on HP ProLiant MicroServer Gen8
-
Hi,
Does anyone knows if it is possible to install pfsense 2.1 on HP ProLiant MicroServer Gen8?
Previous post on this subject talks about older generation of HP MicroServer.
Intel C204 Chipset / Intel Celeron G1610T
HP Ethernet: 1Gb 2-port 332i Adapter
Storage Controller: HP Dynamic Smart Array B120iThanks for your answers,

Bare metal install of pfSense probably won't work. Drivers will be the issue.
I'm running ESXi on my Gen8 and have a virtual pfSense plus four other VMs.

C204 is a sandy bridge (6 series) chipset, base install works fine up to at least ivy (7) now.
The main questions would be what are the actual chipsets for the storage controller and NIC.

ESXi sees the two built-in NICs as Broadcom BCM5720. Two interfaces, one controller, I think.
Not sure whether there are any B120i (storage controller) drivers available for FreeBSD. It seems none of the drivers for that are open source. I did find this though:

Thank you very much for your answers.
I will try other hardware as I cannot plan to install ESXi for my case.
If I have a chance to try this installation, I will let you know.
