      I believe my reverse proxy settings are correct and it would work for several days and one day it would simply fail. I would not be able to connect to my webserver unless I specific the link and port. I have a dynamic ip and using namecheap dyndns. I don't think it has anything to do with dynamic dns since I can point to the server using the domain name an the port, just not through the specific mapping.

        You are going to have to give us some information to work with. Like the access.log I think when it is not working. Does restarting the service fix it? What do you have to do to get it working again?
