I am trying to set up my pfsense on ovh and I have succeeded using the following commands from shell taken from another link that I would be happy to post but I bet I would not be able to post it so I am not going to even try.

1.2.3.254 is the theoretical gateway that I would be using.  It exists on a different subnet than the ip address.  My problem is that I want to persist it and these settings of course disappear after restart of pfsense.

route add -net 1.2.3.254/32 -iface em0
       <hit enter="">route add default 1.2.3.254</hit>

I did make an attempt at that but I was not able to convert the code routes into something for the gui.  They were written by someone else and I am a noob in freebsd and in networking this is above my level.  I would be more than happy to spend a few hours learning if someone could point me to something but I don't have weeks to spend on this.  If it came down to that then I would just enter those 2 lines after each reboot since anyways reboots are that common in a router scenario.

Ok so this is a good explanation on how to make routes using shell.  I already have that and I understand how my routes work now after reading that but what I don't understand is how to take routes that I have in freebsd text form and convert them into the gui so they will persist.  The funny thing is usually the problem is getting form the gui to text but this is what it is.

Well, if you have problems with translating it to the GUI, then you did not understand the man page. Try again.

Well maybe this is a hack but I found a way around it.  I installed the shellcmd package which runs shell commands at startup.    I do believe as well that not every routing scenario can be done using the gui and I do believe that is the case here.
