Lusca Package seems not supported in 2.1, why? HELP!
-
I successfully installed 2.1, the WAN and LAN are UP. I can log-in to the GUI, have configures the basics.
For my hardware profile see attachment.
I have successfully installed LUSCA CACHE, see image.
But when I am about to configure it at Services > Proxy Server I get this error:
"Warning: dir(/usr/local/etc/squid/errors/): failed to open dir: No such file or directory in /etc/inc/pfsense-utils.inc on line 417 Fatal error: Call to a member function read() on a non-object in /etc/inc/pfsense-utils.inc on line 418"
I am not a BSD savvy so I really don't understand the error message. Could somebody help me please. Or couldsome one give me a step by step fix on this?
Thanks!

I suppose if you don't find a solution you could use squid for your caching needs
It is basically the same -
Actually I tried going back to 2.0.3, set up the lusca then updated the firmware to 2.1 and it works.

Lusca isn't supported in any version, you're pulling 3+ year outdated code from some unknown person's free web hosting account on a server that's continually hosting malware.

Ok.. I understand now.
I'm just back of pfsense thing. So I guess I'll have to divert on squid thing for cashing.
