      Greetings,

I have captive-portal configured on my LAN with no authentication other than a button click. Some devices (mostly smartphones) are given an IP address by DHCP without going through the captive-portal authentication process. I'm running a default install of pfSense 2.1.1-RELEASE-pfSense (amd64).

How would I go about trouble-shooting the reason why this is happening? Is this a known bug? If so, is there an solution I can implement until it is fixed in future releases.

      Thank you,

      Scott

        Huh? Whut?  :o ???

You know, there cannot be any CP authentication (not even a click-thru) without ALL the devices getting an IP first… This is NOT a bug.

There was actually a CP bug in 2.1.1 that will be fixed in 2.1.2 (coming hopefully today)

But that wouldn't necessarily have caused issues for everyone.
