      Hello.
First post, tried pfsense about 2 hours now, seems really nice!

      The question:
Where do I copy files on my pfsense box to make it persistent? Every boot deletes the file. :(
Its i Firebox X550e and I found a program (WGXepc) to control the fans since the firebox sounds like a server!
It uses the CF card, do I need to add the program to it somehow?

        Found the solution.

        /etc/rc.conf_mount_rw

This will NOT get the files persistent across firmware upgrades.

And with that you mean if I write a new image to the CF card?
            Arent all settings lost then?
I found a wiki about modifying the embedded version https://doc.pfsense.org/index.php/Modifying_Embedded but own copied files would get lost then? Is there a recommended way to keep own programs copied to the pfsense box?
I will most likely have forgotten how I did this the next time its needed…

I mean the firmware upgrade, as I have already said.

              No. Read /etc/rc.firmware

It's nothing personal, he's always like that!  ;)

Since WGXepc is small I keep it in /conf which isn't overwritten during a firmware update.
