FreeBSD 10.0-STABLEGot up this morning and noticed NTPD was stopped. System log has:
Apr 16 06:44:58 kernel: Failed to write core file for process ntpd (error 5) Apr 16 06:44:58 kernel: pid 74520 (ntpd), uid 0: exited on signal 11
I think WAN (ADSL) had recently gone down/up and all the failover/recovery action for that. NTP log had this a few seconds earlier when it started:

So this "exited on signal 11" thing can still happen on the FreeBSD10 version. And there are all those "setsockopt IPV6_MULTICAST_IF 0 for fe80::20d:b9ff:fe24:59c1%15 fails: Can't assign requested address" trying to do their thing.
Care factor low on this - just documenting what can happen, and if someone knows a fix, then well and good.
