Cant get link on nic C2000 SoC I354 Quad GbE controller
-
Hi,
Im using this motherboard: http://www.supermicro.com/products/motherboard/Atom/X10/A1SAM-2550F.cfmI can get the first nic (WAN) to function properly but all other three in this quadcontroller are not working.
I dont even get link on any of the other three even though they are enabled in pfsense. I can see them in the admin gui and assign them but no link.Im running the latest version of pfsense:
2.1.2-RELEASE (amd64)
built on Thu Apr 10 05:42:18 EDT 2014
FreeBSD 8.3-RELEASE-p15Any suggestions would be most appreciated.

How are you connecting to them?
Are you seeing no link in pfSense or no link LEDs?
Try connecting via a switch if you're not already or try setting the speed/duplex manually. If you re-assign the WAN to a different NIC what is the result?
That same NIC controller is being used with no issues in the Supermicro C2758 box so I would not expect this to be a hardware/pfSense issue.
Edit: The board appears to have a jumper for enabling on-board NICs, check that.

No driver in freebsd 8.3 for the NIC. NICs work in pfsense 2.2 alpha based on freebsd 10.

This is wrong. The i354 NICs work fine in 2.1.1 and newer.

Because we back ported the driver from 10. :)
