Unable to communicate with https://packages.pfsense.org.

When trying to update or install packages I get the error " Unable to communicate with https://packages.pfsense.org." I know the issue is with my WAN port having a static private class A IP address 10.?.?.? and my ISP has not given the WAN port network direct access to the internet because they are using RFC 1918 space as the peering IP. We have 128 public IPs that I setup as virtual ips addresses and use with NAT port forwarding and outbound for our network internet access. Somehow I need pfSense to use one of my public IPs as the source IP when accessing the internet for updating and package installation. Is this doable or should my ISP be allowing the WAN port direct access to the internet. Our previous ISP we moved from assigned us a static public IP for the WAN port.

pfSense will always use the system default gateway for connections generated from within the box itself. I assume your ISP is handing you a gateway IP via DHCP also in the 10.x.x.x subnet?
Do you have a gateway address for your public IPs? I assume you must otherwise your retrun traffic would have no route.
Seems odd that they don't give you a route to the internet via the 10.x.x.x network. :-\Steve
