For the last year I have used a modified hosts file on my laptop to block ads and it works GREAT.  I got the DNS entries from here:

      http://winhelp2002.mvps.org/hosts.htm

There are many items in this list that pfBlocker/squidguard miss, and there are advantages to using a host file to redirect back to 127.0.0.1.  I tried to modify the hosts file in the pfSense and it was a disaster - the DNS forwarder keeps overwriting the hosts file when it is turned back on.

I could add every single DNS entry manually inside of the DNS forwarder, but since there are several thousand of them this is not very practical.

Is there a practical way to add these entries to the pfSense hosts file?
