Has anyone tried to flash a Cisco router system with pfSense? Is it even possible?

        Nope.

Most Cisco equipment does not run on a standard x86 platform and instead uses a proprietary format to run the IOS or VX OS software. On some old routers I believe they use to use an x86 based amd cpu (correct me if I'm wrong, it's been a couple years) but those if your lucky might be able to run m0n0wall 1.2 (FreeBSD 4 variant).
