Silent Hardware that Supports Gigabit Internet ala Google Fiber
-
For the last 10 years I've been running a 2U Debian server with IPTables acting as a firewall/router. As Google Fiber is coming to town and this old server is starting to become very noisy, I am looking to find another solution and PFSense seems to have everything I need. However, all the small appliance type boxes available don't have nearly the power to support GB Internet and we use a lot of bandwidth for audio/video transfers.
Can anyone recommend a silent/fanless solution (or at least as quiet as possible) in either desktop (preferred) or 1U rackmount that will support these types of speeds?

1 Gbit/s fanless isn't hard (but also isn't necessarily cheap) if all you're trying to do is Firewall+NAT. What are your requirements?
