      It seems like I am having the same issue described in the following thread:
      https://forum.pfsense.org/index.php?topic=61812.0

      Trying custom install, creating GEOM mirror from two disks of the same size and model, installing to the mirror; after the step to select the swap partition, installation starts, and then hangs at 38%.

      The screen is stuck at:

      Executing Commands
      /usr/local/bin/cpdup -vvv -I -o /usr /mnt/usr
      The spinner is spinning, but the progress is stuck at 38%.

      How do I go past this?

        Ok, found it on another thread: remove network cables before install.
