      Hi,

I'm using PFSENSE last version 2.1.3-RELEASE (i386). I'm trying to implement on PFsense a VPN connection type L2TP/IPSEC to establish VPN access via dialup of Microsoft Windows 7, XP … But unfortunately I'm getting the following error message always comes up when I try to connect:
"error: 789 The L2TP connection attempt failed because the security layer encountered a processing error during initial negotiations with remote computer"
Right now through this PFsense can only connect PPTP-type VPN connections with the client Microsoft Windows dial up, but as there are security issues with pptp, intend to avoid this type of configuration.
So I need to know if the VPN L2TP/IPSEC type of PFsense is compatible with the Microsoft dial up client Windows.
I also need to know if the OPENVPN of PFsense can only be used with the client of Microsoft Windows dial up, to prevent the installation of the vpn-client-2.2.2-realese.exe.

      Thank you!

L2TP+IPsec does not work with pfSense yet.

We're working on it for 2.2, it should work there.

OpenVPN requires installation of its client, it can't work with Windows' built-in dialer.

          Hi Again,

Do you have any release date for PFsense 2.2?

          Best Regards!

No solid date. Should be moving to BETA sometime in the next couple weeks if all goes well.
