      Hi,

We are using a PFSense box to provide a free public WiFi solution and I am looking into the possibility of pushing adverts to connected devices, majority of devices are phones, is anyone aware of a package that can do this?

      Thanks

      Andy

Customize the Captive Portal page? They would see it when they first connected. https://doc.pfsense.org/index.php/Captive_Portal

          Hi,

We do have a custom captive portal that we use as well, what we would like is to push a html page advert out to client devices after an hour of being connected or at a certain time.

afaik there's no way to inject html after a certain time.

the only way to accomplish this, would be a man-in-the-middle "attack' with tools like ettercap, to inject/replace html.

Yes you could do a MITM style intercept and replace images a-la 'Upside-Down-Ternet'. You could, more easily, have the captive portal leases expire after an hour forcing users to login again and be subjected to advertising. However that still won't push anything you have to wait for the clients to pull something you can intercept. I would think there is no way to this without some client side plugin.
