Looking at the number of problems being reported  :o  what is your best guess when 2.2 will be ready for production?

Most of the "problems" lately are non-issues or temporary issues with snapshots. There are a couple more features we're waiting to integrate/test and then it is clear to progress to Beta, so … it's difficult to say. For some, it might be OK now, for most, perhaps not quite yet. If it works, it'll keep working, but if you obsessively track snapshots, maybe not.

If that's the case, is atheros 11n AP support in a testable state? I tried one of the snapshots recently, but was not able to get any clients to connect, whereas 11g was stable. That said, I might have fat-fingered the config.

similarly i would like to ask , how is the proccess going with some major packages.

In my case pfsense depends on squid, squidguard, sarg and some others.
Last time i tried squid and squidguard they both gave an error when selected from the menu.
The error is previously discussed (something about php).

So is there any timetable on when those services will be working again?

That is up to the package maintainers to fix.

Squid 2.7.x and squidguard (the non-dev version) should be OK last I knew.

                Thanks for the quick reply,

                just tried squid 2.7.

Fatal error: Call-time pass-by-reference has been removed; If you would like to pass argument by reference,
modify the declaration of squid_before_form_general(). in /usr/local/www/pkg_edit.php(123) : eval()'d code on line 1

am i doing something wrong ?

I'm using 2.2 as an AP "kind-of-productive" right now.

I'm also using it at home now - IPv6 is broken for me (issue 3361, I believe), but it's less broken than 2.1 was - and everything else seems fine.  :)

(I hear IPv6 in 2.1 works fine for others, I've just not had any luck with it myself.)
