Without sysutils/xe-guest-utilities you cannot live migrate a pfSense VM on Citrix XenServer. It also prevents modifying the NICs in the hypervisor while the VM is running and won't report memory statistics. I recently fixed this port so it works on pfSense:

      http://svnweb.freebsd.org/ports?view=revision&revision=361096

I wrote a blog entry about running on Citrix XenServer here:

Of course, CARP still won't work because XenServer doesn't permit broadcast traffic on the virtualized network interfaces… but otherwise it works wonderfully!

Detecting XenServer during installation and automatically installing this port would be a wonderful feature...

2nd for this. It would be nice, if the devs could find the time.

I'm using carp on pfsense 2.1 xen virtual machines. Does it will fail on 2.2?

Upgraded XenServer to 6.5 yesterday. PfSense doesn't route packets at more than 64kB/s …

I had to roll back an Hypervisor to use it again Now it works at 3~4Gb/s . I've tried with and without all the offload mecanisms. With or without to tools (which may be not fully optimized for 6.5)

Do you guys have similar issues ?
