My FireFox updated to version 31 today and I am unable to login to any of my Pfsense boxes.  I monitor about 7.  Anyone else have this issue.

there was this thread about it https://forum.pfsense.org/index.php?topic=79656.0

Seems the default is marked with CA that new higher security in firefox might bitch about.

I'm not having any issue with ff31, but than again I don't use https to pfsense gui since its local on my network.

FF31 in Xubuntu. No issues. Using https on several boxes.

Had some wierdness yesterday w/FF31 not opening my https:/ pfSense gui's.

Ended up that one of my other FF tabs (I typically have 20-30 open at once) had a Flash process or other such addon locking things up.  Once I cleared that, everything was fine.

The odd part was it only affected some of my https sessions, pfSense being one of them.  :P

The OP's problem sounds like what I hit:
                https://forum.pfsense.org/index.php?topic=79656.msg434471#msg434471

It would lock up even in FF safe mode, it would take up one core's worth of CPU per tab with a failing HTTPS request, and it wouldn't stop when I would exit FF, I had to kill the whole process. It's something in the profile's settings but I haven't found what yet. A fresh/clean profile works fine. If none of the other suggestions work, toggle security.use_mozillapkix_verification in about:config and it should let you through.

Used the link and changed security.use_mozillapkix_verification to false and all is working.

Looks like I spoke too soon earlier.

Just hit another pfsense site that wouldn't open with https.
Set security.use_mozillapkix_verification to false and it opened right away… ???

Ok, solved it by resetting the firefox profile… clears all my addons and stuff, but works now.

alt + f, navigate to Help > Troubleshooting Information then click the Reset Firefox button.

                        Best regards,

                        V
