Hi!
Need some help with package management in pfsense 2.1.4
Info:
2.1.4 new install CD-ISO
squid3, squidguard, HAVP antiDid this:
Installed HAVP dashboard widget. It didn't show any alerts. So decided to uninstall it again.
Uninstall hangs when finished at "Package Deleted" … Browser busy, spinning.
Wait about 5 minutes. Didn't finish. Did reset on GUI.
Now GUI hangs every time I access Available Packages. How do I go around finding whats causing this? Need some guiding here :-) !
Brgs,

Take a look at Diagnostics: Backup/restore GUI Tab
Make a full backup, and see if there is "checkbox" to clear the package installation at the bottom of this page.
Also, you could try the "Reinstall Packages" icon which is at the bottom also.

Hi!
The unit is in production already and I preferably work on it from remote, OpenVPN, (its a bit of a travel to get to the machine) so don't think I dare putting it through the procedure you recommend.
Thank you anyway for the specific guidance.
I return to the possibility to try to figure out what has gone wrong, and mend it, with the pfSense and why Available Packages gone bad
Are there any logs or config file that could lead me to more information?

FYI: see https://forum.pfsense.org/index.php?topic=78276.0
I'm also trying to find out what is happening since a couple of days.
For some reason, on some systems, there seems to be an issue in reaching the proxy server.Might be you are suffering same issue…

Hi!
For what its worth.
Just tried to do the same procedure in a 2.1.3. Adding the same packages, in the same order, and the Remove the HAVP widget. Works like a charm! No problem with GUI hanging or not being able to access Available Packages.
Something is fishy with package management in 2.1.4, I think …
Anything I can do to help isolate the issue?I just read the linked threads on the subject. The combo: BSD MTU VLAN / HTTPS / 2.1.4 / Package server ... not to good it looks like.

Anything I can do to help isolate the issue?
No idea? I'm out of idea's for the moment. (tried a lot, found nothing conclusive)
I have 4 systems at hand, all on the same level (2.1.4), different breeds (nano/full) and also 2 ISP's. 2 of them give no issue, on 2 other it does not work.
Also, I've just lost connectivity again to the forum (it did not resolve so no access for more than 10min)
So I'm still suspecting it to be an issue with the server? In meantime I think it's a better idea to wait for someone from ESF to feedback with news or instructions…
