Planning out hardware… Picked up an ASRock Rack C2750D4I 8 core Atom for dirt cheap. Putting a Samsung 840 Pro SSD in for reliability and speed. http://www.asrockrack.com/general/productdetail.asp?Model=C2750D4I

Motherboard includes a dual i210. We've got two carriers, so that should be just dandy. We'll use these as the external interfaces.

On the LAN side, the old firewall was using an Intel Gigabit CT... its 82574L based, has MSI-X and 2x recv/trans queues.

Curious if there's any advantage to switching from a Gigabit CT to an i350 or i210 on the LAN side of our firewall. Thanks!

      TL;DR:

      • We push about 6k-14k pps

      • business fiber 50mbps and 100mbps uplinks

      • typically run about 20mpbs-30mpbs steady state

      • How's support in freebsd for: i210, i350, Gigabit CT (82574L)?

      • Is there a hardware advantage between the three?
