      hi

is it possible to run squidguard but squid is not running (stop service)?
tried stopping squid but later on it will start again.
i use this command "squid -k shutdown" but squidguard will stop also and later it will start again.
i only want squidguard for filter purposes using transparent mode
squid affects my browsing to the point of slowing my internet.
i don't need cache. i just want squidguard only and particularly the use of regular expression

      thanks

      PS.
im using opendns but squidguard works a lot better for me

yeah but squid affects my browsing to the point of slowing my internet.
is there a way that squid will not cache?
          i mean no caching involve.

          thanks

Then remove both squid and squidguard and you will probably be happy you did.

Set your cache size to zero?

Set the size to zero and also set the cache filesystem type to 'null'.
