      Hi Guys,

I'm running pfSense 2.1.4-RELEASE (i386) on Esxi. I've got it running WAN on one NIC > LAN on next NIC as per the setup guide here: -

      https://doc.pfsense.org/index.php/PfSense_2_on_VMware_ESXi_5

From there, I feed into a Netgear GS108 switch, which then houses my Ethernet direct connections (PC, Playstation etc) as well as providing the ethernet for the wireless.

I have two routers for wireless - the BT Home Hub (currently unconnected) & Netgear N150 Wireless Modem DGN1000. Both have DHCP turned off and are as close to WAPs as I can make them. However, with both, my network connection becomes sketchy. The homehub allows devices to connect and use the wifi, but stops internet functioning on the wired devices, the Netgear works, but not for as many devices as I need (and may cause issues with wired connection, can't confirm right now).

I'm lost as where to begin with troubleshooting this, there's so much in the diagnostics tabs and I'm not really sure where to begin. I'd like to get the configuration working without any hitches, can anyone provide any suggestions?

      Thanks, pfSense noob.

My guess is you got IP conflicts and that your DHCP and NAT are not as off as you think on those wireless devices.

I've got the PC set to a static IP quite high up in the available range (obviously outside the DHCP range for pfSense), so I'd be surprised if that's the case. I'll double double check though. Thanks for the reply!

Hey, I went through it once more on both routers - the BT Home Hub appears to want to be in control, even when you have disabled firewall, DHCP and set its gateway to pfSense's - the wifi worked, but the wired connections routed to the homehub, which they obviously shouldn't.

With the netgear router, after a factory reset and a second try, it appeared to work. Can I ask where would be best to check on the pfSense side of things?
