Hi All, I am new here. I have done some reading but have some questions. I have an ASUS RT-AC66U wireless router. My download speed is 115Mb and I want all traffic on the home network to run through a VPN on OpenVPN. I see this router can't handle the throughput so I want to build a system to act as a router while still using the wireless router for the wifi in my house.

      Can I run from moden>pfsense build>wireless router?

Since I want atleast CPU powerful enough for 115Mb VPN throughput, has anyone used the G3220 CPU? Was thinking that cpu, ASUS H87i-Plus MoBo, 8GB DDR3 and a 120GB SSD.

Anyone have any comments or suggestions?

Thanks for taking the time to help!!

Yes, you'll be OK with that setup (Pentium G3220), but some notes:

        • Modem must be "bridge" instead of router
        • Wireless router must be set/used as access point

So that PfSense is the only router on your network.

        Cheers.
