2.2-BETA snapshots now available
-
For those who want to help test the next release, 2.2-BETA snapshots are up for testing at http://snapshots.pfsense.org/
Update URLs for use in firmware update settings:
http://snapshots.pfsense.org/FreeBSD_releng/10.1/i386/pfSense_RELENG_2_2/.updaters/
http://snapshots.pfsense.org/FreeBSD_releng/10.1/amd64/pfSense_RELENG_2_2/.updaters/Be aware there are some rough edges but many things should function. That said, you should not expect to use these in production yet. Lab environment or tinkering only at this stage.
In particular, CARP, IPsec, and Wireless are good testing targets.
EDIT: [Oct 7, 2014, jimp] - Updated snapshot auto-update URLs.

Can I run 2.1 and 2.2 in a CARP pair or are there major config changes that would break?ย I'd be ok with testing this on one of my prod boxes as long as the other can stay on 2.1.x.

Jason,
We don't recommend you run it in production, yet.
-
Dashboard is now reporting "FreeBSD 10.1-PRERELEASE". In past (ALPHAS) it was "pure 10.0". Is there going to be any more changes regarding base-OS for pfSense 2.2?
-
We have been tracking 10-STABLE, will likely land on 10.1 depending on the timing.
-
What are the criteria for a release and is there a estimate of when the 2.2 will be released?
-
The criteria generally consist of there being no regressions from the previous release, plus all of the new features being complete and functional.

https://redmine.pfsense.org/projects/pfsense/issues?query_id=41As you can see, none of those are very long lists right now.

That's great news!ย Thanks to all who have really worked hard on this.

for nearly a year and a half.

@gonzopancho:
for nearly a year and a half.
Does these mean ya'll are too tired to get the long awaited, much rumored, MIPS64 version out? :)
-
Updated the URL in the original post since branching nudged it again.
-
Can someone fix the fact that the updates aren't signed?
-
They are not signed on purpose. See my response on your other thread.
