      Hi.

I have the following problem with my DLink QuadPort Card (D-Link DFE-570TX (21143, MII, quad port)):

      ste0: <d-link 10="" dl10050="" 100basetx="">port 0x6000-0x607f irq 9 at device 4.0 on pc
      i4
      miibus0: <mii bus="">on ste0
      ukphy0: <generic ieee="" 802.3u="" media="" interface="">on miibus0
      ukphy0:  10baseT, 10baseT-FDX, 100baseTX, 100baseTX-FDX, auto
      ste0: Ethernet address: 00:0d:88:68:47:04
      ste1: <d-link 10="" dl10050="" 100basetx="">port 0x6080-0x60ff irq 11 at device 5.0 on p
      ci4
      miibus1: <mii bus="">on ste1
      ukphy1: <generic ieee="" 802.3u="" media="" interface="">on miibus1
      ukphy1:  10baseT, 10baseT-FDX, 100baseTX, 100baseTX-FDX, auto
      ste1: Ethernet address: 00:0d:88:68:47:05
      ste2: <d-link 10="" dl10050="" 100basetx="">port 0x6400-0x647f irq 11 at device 6.0 on p
      ci4
ste2: MII without any phy! <-------
      device_attach: ste2 attach returned 6
      ste3: <d-link 10="" dl10050="" 100basetx="">port 0x6480-0x64ff irq 10 at device 7.0 on p
      ci4
      miibus2: <mii bus="">on ste3
      ukphy2: <generic ieee="" 802.3u="" media="" interface="">on miibus2
      ukphy2:  10baseT, 10baseT-FDX, 100baseTX, 100baseTX-FDX, auto
      ste3: Ethernet address: 00:0d:88:68:47:07</generic></mii></d-link></d-link></generic></mii></d-link></generic></mii></d-link>

One port out of 4 is not correctly recognized and I can not use it under pfSense.
–> ste2: MII without any phy!
I am currently running pfSense 1.2-RC4 on my server.
Could you say me if there is a patch for this problem ? I really need the 4 ports !

Thanks a lot in advance for your answer.

      Cordially,

      Arnaud

It's highly likely that the port in question (or possibly the card) is faulty.

A quick check would be to grab the FreeBSD 6.3 LiveCD and see what it thinks of the card.

I use the same card without any problems. All four ports work fine.

Just curious - do you have all four ports connected to a hub or switch so they are active???

I have run into the situation where the interface had to be active before it was detected - especially if all the ports were on the same interrupt (I have not worked with that card so I don't know if it is the same)…

            gm...

I only have three ports connected but all four are detected.
