MySQL connection issues
-
Since installing pfSense, I've been having connection problems with the MySQL server that I have running on the network behind the firewall.
The SQL server reports that name of the host trying to connect is now '192.168.1.3', as opposed to 'localhost' that it did previously. A re-install of MySQL (as this issue managed to lock out the root user as well as everyone else) and adjustment of the hosts that can be connected to the server has resolved the problem as a workaround, but I'm a little confused as to why the host's name should have changed in the eyes of the MySQL server.
I haven't altered any of the scripts that the server uses, and the machine it runs on has exactly the same name and IP address as it did prior to the replacement of SmoothWall with pfSense.
