      Gentlemen:

Just built a Pfsense router platform. It is an Intel Xeon V3. I was able to load the 32 bit ISO image but the 64bit ISO (AMD64) will not install l past 38 percent. I have read some commentary about this matter but it confusing. Will this issue be solved with Pfsense version 2.2. Is there something I can do to install the current 64 bit version of Pfsense version 2.1.5 on this intel based platform?

      Thanks for the assistance.

There are a few "38%" issues. The work around for mine was to use the default install and unplug my USB keyboard after starting the install, before reaching 38%. This was challenging because I was booting from a USB3 stick and installing to SSDs. Because it's a default install, it doesn't prompt for anything once it starts. Finished on its own, reboot, good to go.

Some people have had other issues, so different fixes.

Other things that seem to have worked for others include:
Disabling all but one cpu core in bios during install (you can re-enable them afterwards).
Disabling any hardware virtualisation features in the bios during install.
Just waiting a really long time.  ;)

            Gentlemen:

Thanks for the response to my question. It just seems there must be a larger issue that can be corrected with a new software build. Does any one know if  the current activity is going to addressed in the upcoming 2.2 version

There appear to be a number of issues that can cause the 38% issue, all of them corner cases. It's hard to say what might be causing problems for you. However 2.2 is built on FreeBSD 10.1 so a lot has changed. There's a good chance that whatever is causing it will have been updated. Try a 2.2 snapshot and find out.
