Interfaces going down and up with packet loss
-
Hello.
I have a problem with my pfS installation.
I got 3 NIC's assigned and the problem is that the WAN NIC is getting packet loss and probably apinger is restarting both WAN and LAN NIC's.
I really dont know where to start because it worked for 24h after installation, then i had to to make some cable management and after reboot the problem started.
Wan connects to the ISP cable modem(bridged). It works fine when i plug it directly into PC so i think the modem hardware is good.
I tried to disable gateway monitoring and apinger. Nothing helps. There's a log below. Look at the timestamp. It goes down about 20s after it gets up. And it loops forever.

Please help.
Greetings. -
What happens if you reboot the box?
-
After reboot everything works for about 20 second and gateway status shows about 40% packet loss on wan interface. And after that the restarts happens.
The funny thing is i have second wan connected to dsl router and this one works fine all the time. Only the first wan causes problem. When I disconnect the cable of wan1(tried different ones) everything works fine.

could be faulty wiring. check the cabling.
-
Done that already with 3 different patchcables. Didn't help.
-
loose NIC ?
try swapping the WAN NIC and see what happens.

What version of pfSense are you using?
