I've been searching unsuccessfully for guidance, or a config, to set up 2 pfSense installs in Active/Passive failover.

I am VERY limited in the amount of public IPs at my disposal, and hope that I can have only 1 IP to my failover cluster - 3 public IPs assigned to one set of firewalls will not fly with my management team.

Does pfSense have this ability, or is there a workaround to get this working?

Thanks for your assistance, pfSense community!

EDIT: What I'm looking for is a config/guide that allows me to only assign 1 public address to the pfSense cluster, which will failover to the standby system during a primary outage.

        That is not currently possible.

However on 2.2 you can do CARP with only one IP in a subnet. But 2.2 is still beta and not quite production ready.
