Squid 2.7.9 pkg v.4.3.4 Seems to be Blocking Google.com only

  • I'm running pfSense 2.1.5-Release x64

I just configured Squid and a few other services last night and at that time everthing worked, and I poked around after applying each one before moving to the previous.

    Packages Installed:
    Service Watchdog

When the problem started it said it was associated with the Antivirus package not running, yet within pfSense everything was displayed as running appropriately.

After uninstalling Snort and the antivirus service I'm not getting the following error message:

The requested URL could not be retrieved

While trying to retrieve the URL: http://www.google.com/

    The following error was encountered:

    Connection to Failed
    The system returned:

    (1) Operation not permitted

I can access other google serices such as maps, gmail, and drive with out an issue, it's just the ability to go to google.com so I can preform a search.

    Any Ideas?

  • I just found a work around for the problem but I'll leave this up incase soemone has a better idea, or solution.

WHat I did to remedy the issue was to create an exception in: Services -> Proxy Server -> Cache Mgmt -> Do not cache.

    Here I added:
