IPv6 for LAN and OPT Interfaces go away after a reconfiguration.
-
Hello everybody:
Just yesterday, I installed my pfSense firewall PC on my network with this configuration:
Comcast/Xfinity Cable Modem > pfSense-2.1.5-AM64 Firewall > LAN >ASUS RT-N53 (Safe Network)
> OPT1 > Linksys WRT320N DD-WRT 2.4 BIG build 14471M(Streaming Devices)On the WAN Interface, I have both DHCPv4 and DHCPv6 enabled, with the DHCPv6 Prefix Delegation Size set to 63 for the LAN and OPT1 Interfaces, and the checkbox Send IPv6 Prefix hint checked so that both LAN and OPT1 can get an IPv6 address for the clients in my house: computers, smartphones (if applicable), tablets (iOS only), Netgear TV box, blu-ray players, and my raspberry pi box.
Before, I got the IPv6 addresses to the LAN and OPT1 interfaces with success, however, after I configured my OPT1 Interface with a new IPv4 address space from /30 to /28 (for my old router to get the IPv6 address from the OPT1), the IPv6 address went away, and the same with the LAN (for testing purposes).
Is there a way I can get the IPv6 to get back on the interfaces without restarting the pfSense box? Just only restarting the interfaces would be nice.
I tried these commands to no avail:
/etc/rc.d/netif restart rl0 /etc/rc.d/netif restart rl1
Interfaces:
WAN: re0 - RealTek RTL8111 Gigabit Ethernet
LAN: rl0 - RealTek RTL8139 Fast Ethernet PCI
OPT1: rl1 - RealTek RTL8139 Fast Ethernet PCI
