Hi all ive got 2 cable connections from the same isp,  I've followed the dual wan setup from the 1.2 version of pfsense and the fall over doesn't seem work, I assume this is due to both modems having the same dns server is there any way I can staticly assign a deffernt dsn server to the second connection

It's not a problem with the dns server being identical. I guess your gateways at both wans are the same and this is the problem. You could add a nat hop at one of the wans to make the gateways different at both wans. This has been discussed already. Please search if you need further details.
