Set up PFsense with another router?
-
I was told I could use PFsense as a secondary router so I can have my own subnetwork.
This is how it is so far Modem>Router>(PFsense)Router>Switch>All my computer
I can connect to PFsense and every other computer on this little Subnet, but there still is no internet access, I know I am doing something wrong but I don't know what!
I still have no internet access, what do I do? I think I have to configure the WAN interface a certain way, but I can't find anything online about this, can anyone help explain what I need to do?
I also noticed I can connect to PFsense even if I am on my Netgear's Wireless, why is that?
What I am trying to accomplish:
I need it to be Modem>Router>PfSense
I need this so I do not disturb other computers in the house, I want my own SubNetwork that I can tinker with without distrupting anyone else in the house, because the girl in the house works from home and needs a constant 24/7 connection, I am also going to be using this Subnet with my HomeLab.
Now my network is a bit of a cluster****
My Comcast Arris Modem(10.0.0.1, but that IP is no longer in use because of bridge) is bridged to my NetGear router, that has DHCP enabled due to the girls phones and laptops(192.168.1.1)
I set my PFsense IP as 192.168.1.10, I tried to use 192.168.0.1 and 192.168.2.1 and 10.0.0.1 etc but for some reason I can't connect to it.
Now, in this Subnet I also have 2 servers.
One server is for Virtualization(192.168.1.8) and it also hosts Windows Server 2012, with Active Directory/DNS/DHCP(192.168.1.9)
My main Workstation is 192.168.1.4.
So, what should I do? I am really confused on what I need to do to fix this and clean up my network so I can have my own Subnet.

Do you have your NetGear set as the pfSense WAN gateway, and Block private networks disabled on Interfaces - WAN?

I've tried that to no avail.
