State Killing on Gateway Failure ???

Under System: Advanced: Miscellaneous….
there is a options for:

State Killing on Gateway Failure.. which states the following:

"The monitoring process will flush states for a gateway that goes down if this box is not checked. Check this box to disable this behavior."

Iam confused so if i want the states to be killed when the gateway fails. I have to check the box or uncheck it?

Leave it unchecked to kill the states.
That's almost certainly the behaviour you want.
