      Hi everyone,

I would like to put pfSense 2.1.5 + Alix2D13 under rigorous testing for 48 hours. Specifically, I would like to test CPU at 80% and throw many tasks at it along with monitor the bandwidth. I would like to prove to someone that it's a really stable system in software + hardware.

What are some of the ways I can setup this lab?

      Thanks,

Put the ALIX between two other systems running iPerf?  If you're a Windows guy, you could try running Tamosoft Throughput Tester on both servers.

Put a web server on LAN and something like httperf on your lab "WAN" with a 1:1 or port forwards.

You can probably get the alix to 80% cpu fairly easily with iperf through it then toss other loads in the mix.

Tanks for the feedback. Putting Tamosoft Througput test on switch connected to pfSense won't help as all traffic stays at switch level but I like the program. How can I use it to test pfSense?

Put one server on LAN and one on OPT1.  Different subnets.

Put a copy of The Interview on a box behind the pFsense and slashdot it.
