      Hello Pfsense Community,

I have acquired today this mini computer for a pfsense box:

      http://www.hystou.com/products/fanless-computers/celeron-1037u-mini-pc/barebone-fanless-mini-computer-desktop-pc-intel-celeron-1037u-htpc-alloy-case-with-usb30-1084.html

I want to set it up after the uverse gateway, and before the ESXi rig I have, and also use it for wifi, using up my 16 static IP assigned block. I tried to follow a guide, but it was for 2wire, and I am having issues.

-I installed pfsense, set up the interfaces by (a) , plug in, (ENTER)
-Connected my lappy to the WAN side, disabled wifi, enabled wired, browser to 192.168.1.1

Went through guide steps to configure gateway IP, set static, on LAN DHCP will not enable as is suggested. It wants to stick at 192.168.1.1

Where am I going wrong? I need the static IPs to be assigned to devices connecting through the pfsense box, either LAN side, else wifi. I'm fairly ignorant, so no need to tell me so. Just point me in the correct direction.

      End setup will be:

      gateway > pfsense > esxi >VMs
                                  > wifi

      How do I get here?

I need this figured out within the next few days. Have a few VMs to spin up and be running services.

Thanks to anyone who is able to give advice!

What wifi card is that supplied with? There's a good chance that it won't be supported by pfSense unless you asked for one specifically.

Do you have links to the guide you followed?
How does the NVG589 handle multiple public IPs, it looks like it doesn't have a bridge mode?
Do you need the public addresses on the VMs or can they be forwarded?

        Steve

          Just for funzies, screenshots here:

          Yes, here:

;)How does the NVG589 handle multiple public IPs, it looks like it doesn't have a bridge mode?

From what I've gathered, it doesn't have a "true bridge mode", but has options for single IP passthrough, and also a cascading router option. I'm thinking the latter is best?

          Here are screenshots:

I'd like the public addresses to be on the VMs, I'm not even sure what forwarding would mean in this situation. Apologies.

Thanks Steve! I have two days remaining to get this setup. I know it's holidays, but would be great if someone could chime in before Sunday evening.

Ok. There's no FreeBSD driver for the Broadcom BCM43225 chip used in that wifi card and it's very unlikely one will appear any time soon. Broadcom have not released an specs for it so it has to be reverse engineered as I understand it.

'Cascaded router' sounds like it might be the right option here but I need to do more reading. I'm probably not the right person for this since I'm in the UK and only vaguely familiar with uverse.  ;)
