I installed the latest version of pfsense (1.2) and everything is fine..except my boot hangs at the second "Starting DHCP service…" line

Below is a snapshot of my boot over serial... I'm at a loss for what is wrong. I'm just attempting to use vr0 and ath0 as LAN/WAN and have tried them assigned to both / vice versa positions.

Any help or insight would be appreciated.

More searching and I guess this appears to be a bios issue.

I'm off to update from 0.98 to 0.99.. hopefully that does it.

Thank you for the help…my two Alix 2C2 are now running, the problem was the same! bios update!

Link to update the  bios: http://www.pcengines.ch/alix2.htm
The process is simple with physdiskwrite.exe install  freedos_alixupdate_0.99.img ( inside freedos3.zip )  in a CF card, copy also the files in alixb099.zip to the CF card ( normal copy/paste under windows ) , boot the alix with this cf card ,  run sb.com and it´s donne !

          Remenber...admin console parameters for hiperterminal:
          Freedos/ ALix  : 9600 8N1  no flow control
          Pfsense : 38400 8N1 no flow control

the rest is going down the road...

          Best Regards
          Paulo Gomes
