      Hello.
I have a problem with boot on Lanner FW-7551A. After the BIOS passes, I can only see blank screen. I tried to play with the console redirection settings as i read somewhere, but with no success. Does anybody know the solution?
      Thank you in advance.

Is it one that was purchased from Netgate? Or directly from Lanner?

Which version of pfSense is in use? And what serial port speed is set in the client?

          SOLVED (by workaround)
It is one purchased directly from Lanner. I tried 2.1 and 2.2 RC, both 64bit and 32bit versions. Console speeds 115200 and 9600.
After I made a "dd" of the CF image to the card and tried to boot, I had no success. The only way for me was to run through the installation from the USB flash. After this, the pfSense is booting up alright. The shame is, that I cannot use the "easier" way of installation, but it never mind.

You should be using a Nano image for a CF card.
Please specify exactly what the image was you used and what command you used to write it.

The Lanner units usually require this to boot a CF with NanoBSD:

That's surprising on the newer Lanner units. I haven't seen anyone else having problems booting other Lanner boxes, perhaps they're all running HDs. It's certainly not true for the XTM5 which is a mildly modified Lanner FW-7580.ย  :-\

It may vary from model to model and BIOS to BIOS. It's still the first thing I'd try if a CF didn't boot on one.

                    Interesting.
I tried another one thing. I made a new CF card with pfSense 2.2 RC (perhaps 2.1 would behave the same) and after that I connected the CF card to FreeBSD machine and replaced the boot manager by following command:
                    boot0cfg -B /dev/adx
                    And it works! :-)
