      Hi;
      Is there a guide that gives you a basic guide.
      I use the cook book to get started but I want to make sure I  set things up that are best for a home user.
      I'm useing a miniitx dual core amd  ecs board 1 onboard lan and  a intel nic.
      it has 8 gig of ram..
      is running ok  but i find certain issues .
      one on reboot i need to remove never direct as it blocks my normal sites i use.
      and on reboot i need to remove it again.
      any ideals on how to  fix this or create mass import list for websites to where i can leave never direct in but get  facebook etc .
      i'm also paying for the one rules upgrade not the $600.00 or more  buck one though.
      I'd like to add block list  in a easy way as well.
      any help would be great..

        What is your config, it sounds like you might have the Snort package (or Suricata but not both) installed with blocking enabled if you cant access your normal websites?

        If you have snort installed, there are a number of threads which discuss adding different snort alerts to supress like this one.

        Some websites and other net traffic over ports can trigger snort alerts which you can see in the snort alerts tab, you can then choose whether to surpress the snort alert and or snort alert & ip address by clicking on the relevant icon/button in the snort alerts.

            I don't think installing a nano version on a flash drive larger than 4GB yields any benefit.
